Why do Talk Shows have strange time slots?

Great question, actually. I used to be so confused by that, thinking that my clocks were off. It may be to get you to stay on that channel longer. For instance, if one show ends at 12:07, you might as well stick around and watch the next one because if you switch channels, you'll have missed the first 7 minutes of some other show. Strange, but maybe there's some reasoning behind it...
