Friend's parents are almost creepy nice to me?

i would say we are almost like brother and sister we are such good friends. His parents are really nice but only to me it seems like. They dont like any of his other friends and his mom doesn't even like him it seems like. Maybe its cause hes adopted. I dont know. But they are almost freaky nice to me and his dad knows my dad but otherwise our parents dont know each other. I don't know if maybe they were hoping me and my friend were gonna start dating or something?
